Kansas Legislature week three update

The Kansas Legislature met in a short week last week.
On Jan. 19, Matt O'Keefe, dean of the Carl R. Ice College of Engineering, presented to the House Higher Education Budget Committee. O'Keefe presented the impact of the University Engineering Act and the impact on the workforce needs of the state.
This week, Gov. Laura Kelly will present the State of the State Speech before a joint session of the Kansas House of Representatives and Kansas Senate on Tuesday, Jan. 24.
Also this week, David Rosowsky, vice president for research, and Kevin Gwinner, dean of the College of Business Administration, will appear before the House Commerce Committee at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26. Rosowsky will present an update on the K-State Economic Prosperity Plan. Gwinner will present an overview of the College of Business Administration.
Finally, the House Higher Education Budget Committee will receive a report on the research activities and programs on Thursday, Jan. 26, at the 1:30 p.m. meeting of the committee.
