Continuing Education program coordinator earns certified meeting professional designation
Heide Burke, program coordinator for the Division of Continuing Education, has earned the designation of certified meeting professional. The Convention and Industry Council defines levels of professionalism through its certified meeting professional program. The certified meeting professional designation represents the standard of excellence in today’s meetings, conventions and exhibitions industry.
Burke has 11 years of professional experience in meeting planning. To earn the designation of certified meeting professional she earned 125 clock hours in industry-related continuing education including workshops on meeting planning in Washington, D.C., online webinars and attendance at the Professional Convention Management Association annual meeting. She participated in a year-long online certified meeting professional prep course and then successfully completed the certification exam at the end of July.
Burke coordinates national conferences including the Joint Meeting of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists for the Division of Continuing Education.
