K-State Police Department to conduct large-scale active shooter training beginning today

The K-State Police Department, Kansas Highway Patrol, Wamego Police Department, Manhattan Fire Department and Riley County EMS will team up to conduct a large-scale active shooter training on Tuesday, April 4, and Thursday, April 6, in Edwards Hall. The training will include sounds of gunfire and realistic-looking victims and perpetrators. The scenario-based training will begin in the morning and conclude late in the afternoon.
The Kansas Highway Patrol will be conducting tactical training in Edwards Hall on Wednesday, April 5. This training is also likely to include sounds of gunfire and other potentially alarming noises.
The parking lot for Edwards Hall will not be available to the public beginning April 3.
