National Public Health Week on campus
In honor of National Public Health Week April 3-9, the Comprehensive Public Health Group, the Master of Public Health program and the Veterinary Medical Library are highlighting public health.
In this month's Vet Med on a Theme at the Veterinary Medical Library, the April book display in the library features public health-related books.
In addition, the Veterinary Medical Library has compiled a list of the numerous public health electronic resources available in the K-State Libraries collection, which can be found under the National Public Health Week heading.
The Comprehensive Public Health Group, a departmental student organization in the College of Veterinary medicine, invites students and faculty to attend a lecture featuring Nicole Sage and Chad Gurdgiel from Prevention Point. The lecture will take place from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, in the Big 12 Room of the K-State Student Union. Prevention Point, in the heart of the Kensington neighborhood in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is a public health and social services nonprofit that promotes health, empowerment and safety for communities affected by drug use and poverty. All campus and community members are welcome to attend.
The Comprehensive Public Health Group has also planned a Public Health trivia night with Sunset Zoo and Science on Tap at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, at Manhattan Brewing Company on Poyntz Ave. All campus and community members are welcome to attend.
