Barrier-Free Theatre presents original science fiction play
For its 25th anniversary, the Barrier-Free Theatre, a company of actors with and without disabilities, will present "All Stars High School" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 28, and Saturday, April 29, and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 30, in the Purple Masque Theatre.
Barrier-Free Theatre has been a partnership between the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance's drama therapy program and Manhattan Parks and Recreation.
The actors devised the original play about a high school that specializes in science, technology, engineering, arts and math located on a space station orbiting Earth sometime in the future. The prom is coming up when the crowns for the prom queen and king disappear. Other mysterious happenings include spontaneous fires in the chemistry lab and sabotage of the school's spaceships, putting the Space Cadets' lives in danger. Aliens from another planet, disguised as humans, might be involved in the mischief.
Tickets are $5 and are available online or by emailing Ben Stark at benstark@k-state.edu or calling 785-236-8638 from 2:30-5 p.m. on weekdays.
The Purple Masque Theatre is in the west side of the World War I Memorial Stadium just north of the K-State Alumni Center.
