Quiz Bowl Team earns third place at tournament
The Kansas State Quiz Bowl Team, a registered affiliated student organization, secured a third-place finish at the ACF Fall Quiz Bowl Tournament hosted by the University of Oklahoma on Oct. 14.
Comprising a talented group of individuals, the Quiz Bowl Team, led by Isaac Kubacka, senior in geology, exhibited exceptional knowledge and resilience throughout the tournament. Team members include Joaquin Sporleder, sophomore in geography, Gabby Randall, sophomore in photography, and Carson Bollinger, sophomore in mathematics and computer science.
Notably, Sporleder emerged as the second-highest scorer out of 42 participants, averaging an impressive 52 points per round. Alongside Sporleder, Kubacka contributed significantly, with an average of 32 points per round, showcasing the team's diverse range of expertise and talent.
"We're incredibly proud of how the Kansas State Quiz Bowl Team performed," said Ally Demott, team adviser. "Their hard work and dedication have truly paid off, and they've shown what Kansas State University is made of."
The team's success highlights their commitment to learning and representing their university with pride. This achievement also demonstrates the exceptional academic environment at K-State.
