Market research for faculty and staff provided through Market Intelligence and Analysis Unit
Submitted by George C. Widenor
To better serve program development and assessment, Kansas State University has formed a Market Intelligence and Analysis Unit.
This unit is composed of a team of trained analysts who provide this service to the university at no cost to faculty and staff. The unit reports through Global Campus to the Office of the Dean.
Previously, market research services were provided by a single resource within Global Campus, with a primary scope of supporting the development of online programs. The unit creates a group of three market research analysts led by George Widenor, executive director of strategic growth and analysis, with a much broader focus to support all K-State colleges and campuses.
The team has access to market research tools such Lightcast, formerly EMSI/Burning Glass, and Grey Associates, and is trained to maximize the speed and use of these tools to support program development and growth.
"These are the same tools used by such companies as EAB to provide market research, but the Market Intelligence and Analysis Unit at K-State can provide responses much faster and with additional research not always included with such services," Widenor said. "The group is passionate about supporting the imperatives included in Next-Gen K-State and eager to help maximize the enrollment potential of both new and existing programs."
Faculty and staff interested in learning more about the Market Intelligence and Analysis unit can visit the unit website for more information. Use the Qualtrics form to submit your request to the unit for market research support.
