Vernon Larson Lecture Nov. 14
Submitted by Office of International Programs
Join Rebeca Paz, Brent Holliday and Katelin Christianer-Donkers as they present a case study called, "First-Generation International Experience, an applied learning opportunity" at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, in Town Hall, 114 Staley School of Leadership. This is a collaborative presentation by the Education Abroad and the Office of First-generation Students.
Research indicates that high-impact learning practices, such as education abroad programs, positively affect student success, belonging and retention. This is especially true for first-generation students who are underrepresented in participation in education abroad compared to their continuing-generation counterparts. Kansas State University created a faculty-led study abroad experience with the goal of mitigating costs and increasing the representation of first-generation students in education abroad. Attend this session to learn how education abroad experiences are helping to support the K-State Next-Gen Strategic plan.
In-person attendance is encouraged; however, for those unable to physically attend, please register in advance .This event is a collaboration with the Office of international Programs, Vernon Larson Lecture and in coordination with K-State International Education Week 2023, Nov. 8-17.
