Submitted by Academic Achievement Center
The Academic Achievement Center announces Alex Disberger as the fall 2023 Kim Dierks Tutor of Distinction scholarship recipient.
Alex Disberger, junior in finance, started as a peer tutor for the Academic Achievement Center this fall. Disberger has since tutored many K-State students in accounting, economics, math and statistics as both a drop-in and appointment tutor.
"My favorite part of tutoring is witnessing the moment my tutees realize that they are fully capable of solving each problem on their own," Disberger said. " I really enjoy their sincere excitement when they become confident in their own abilities. Helping students get to this point is what makes every appointment fulfilling."
Kim Dierks, previous managing director of tutoring services, was an integral part of the Academic Achievement Center for more than 14 years.
