Reminder: University to reduce activity Dec. 26-Dec. 29 for holiday break
Submitted by Office of the Vice President for Administration and Finance
With holidays quickly approaching this month, K-State employees are reminded that the university will reduce activity Tuesday, Dec. 26, through Friday, Dec. 29.
University offices will be closed during this time except for those providing services required to support the university's teaching, research and service missions. The university, which will also observe the official state holidays of Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, will resume normal operation Tuesday, Jan. 2.
Eligible exempt and non-exempt employees will receive the week of Dec. 26-29 off with pay, and employees will not need to use leave — whether vacation, compensatory, leave without pay, etc. — to cover this period. Nine-month employees, who are paid regardless during this time, are excluded.
Eligible employees who can't take off Dec. 26-29 because of work duties may take off — with pay — the equivalent days of Dec. 19-22.
For additional information about the university's reduced activity during the holidays, read the Nov. 2 memo from Ethan Erickson, vice president for administration and finance.
