Create custom cards and more using the Cricut at the Innovation Lab

Submitted by Cailin Wycoff

The Cricut Maker 3, available for free use at the Sunderland Foundation Innovation Lab in Hale Library, lets you create custom shapes, letters and designs from all sorts of materials. This opens the door to personalizing anything from home decor to fabrics with unique patterns, lettering or logos.

It can transform paper and cardstock, including specialty foil or patterned sheets, which can add an extra touch of wow to your crafts. You can design your own stencil or pick one from a massive library of options.

The machine's ability to handle detailed designs in cardstock makes it ideal for creating unique and beautiful greeting cards, invitations or place cards. Crafters can use the machine to cut out intricate lettering, decorative borders or even layered elements. Whether the desired aesthetic is simple, elegant, whimsical or multilayered, the possibilities are endless.
