Practice woodworking at the Sunderland Foundation Innovation Lab

Submitted by Cailin Wycoff

If you love to get your hands dirty, then you will love the woodworking tools and resources in the Sunderland Foundation Innovation Lab in Hale Library.

The space provides a selection of essential hand tools, allowing you to refine your skills and tackle a variety of projects. These include hammers for assembling furniture, saws for precise cuts, drills for creating joinery and sandpaper for smoothing surfaces.

Beyond hand tools, stationary equipment like table saws and belt sanders are provided. We prioritize the safety of every crafter: personal protective equipment like safety glasses, ear protection and dusk masks are available to shield you from flying debris, noise and dust inhalation.

The woodworking experience is enriched by a supportive community and staff who are happy to answer any questions.
