PTK Honor Roll 2024 Badge

Kansas State University has been named to Phi Theta Kappa's 2024 Transfer Honor Roll, which recognizes excellence in the development and support of dynamic and innovative pathways for community college transfer students.

The Transfer Honor Roll is determined by 40 key factors related to the support and success of transfer students, including admission practices, cost of attendance, financial aid, campus life and bachelor's degree completion rates. K-State is one of a select number of colleges and universities in the nation to receive this designation.

"K-State is thrilled to again be named to PTK's 2024 Transfer Honor Roll," said Patrick Winter, executive director, K-State Office of Recruitment and Admissions. "This designation affirms our institutional commitment to serving the students of Kansas and beyond. Leveraging new technology along with a personalized staffing approach removes barriers and eases the pathways for our transfer students."

K-State's continuous commitment to ensuring the success of transfer students is highlighted in the development of several new initiatives to better serve community college students. The university has hired four new transfer navigators, who serve as on-campus transition coaches at Johnson County Community College, Hutchinson Community College, Garden City Community College and Barton Community College in Kansas. They assist students in major exploration, academic support, class selection and the transition to K-State.

Through K-State's DirectLink program, community college students are connected with an academic advisor at K-State in their area of interest. This personalized curriculum assistance ensures they're on track toward maximizing course transferability and a timely graduation rate. Additional support for transfer students includes enhanced transfer equivalency software, more customizable evaluations and scholarships/awards unique to transfer students.

Transfer students are a vital component of the K-State community, and K-State's recognition for being among the most transfer-friendly colleges in the nation showcases its commitment to ensuring the academic success and future employability of college graduates who start their journey at a community college.
