Portion of College Heights Road will be closed July 23-24

Submitted by Division of Facilities

College Heights Road will be closed from Denison Avenue to North Martin Luther King Jr. Drive from July 23 to 24. During the closure, the parking stalls and crosswalks will be unavailable.

The closure is necessary for the delivery and placement of a large air handler on the roof of Engineering Hall. The process requires a 350-ton hydro crane and counterbalance weights, delivered via a five-semitruck convoy. The convoy will travel north on North Martin Luther King Jr. in the afternoon of July 23, and the crane setup, placement and teardown will occur on July 24.

Pedestrian traffic may cross College Heights Road at North Martin Luther King Jr. Drive or the west side of the Denison Avenue and College Heights intersection. Use the pedestrian detours during the closure, and be cautious when crossing Denison Avenue due to the presence of large trucks and heavy equipment.
