Mercer invites community to ribbon-cutting ceremony for Bluemont Hall renovation
Debbie Mercer, dean of the College of Education, invites you to the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10 for Bluemont Hall’s newly renovated main floor with centralized student services. The event is open to the public.
"We are overjoyed to reveal this renovation because it demonstrates our commitment to our mission," Mercer said. "Aesthetically, it is proudly steeped in all things K-State and our EDCAT culture. Academically, it provides one location for students to manage their journey from enrollment to graduation and licensure. Strategically, it communicates our forward-looking approach to education and our position as the largest preparer of teachers in Kansas."
The event begins at 4 p.m. with self-guided tours of EDCATS Lobby, the Center for Student Success, and Tomorrow's Teacher Commons. At 4:30 p.m., the official ribbon cutting takes place with remarks and concludes with the ceremonial ringing of Bluemont Bell in Holen Courtyard at 5 p.m.
In addition to all student services being centrally located on the first floor, the new space will also house the college's administrative offices and research and grant support services.
