Attend 78th Independence Day of India celebration on Aug. 15
The Indian Student Association invites the university community, family and friends to celebrate the 78th Independence Day of India at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15, at Long's Park.
Indian Independence Day is celebrated every year as a reminder of the country's pride, virtues, cultural richness, diversity and history.
Subbaratnam Muthukrishnan, university distinguished professor emeritus, will serve as the distinguished chief guest for the event.
A short flag-hoisting ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. The ceremony will be followed by a short speech from Muthukrishnan.
