Customize K-State event notifications through university calendar
Submitted by Division of Communications and Marketing
The university calendar system gives users the opportunity to get curated events directly to their inbox. These are automated emails that can be customized and modified in account settings.
Easily set up a digest to keep track of events:
1. Start by visiting this page: events.k-state.edu/digester/summaries/new.
2. Enter your email address so the digest can be sent directly to you. If you are logged into an account, it will not ask you for your email.
3. Give your digest a name — something that helps you remember what it's about.
4. Set your preferences for when and how often you want to receive the digest. You can choose the day, how frequently it arrives (daily, weekly, etc.), how many events you want included, and how far in advance you'd like to be notified of upcoming events.
5. Pick the departments or groups you're interested in from the drop-down menu. This could include various academic colleges, departments or other campus groups. You can explore the available options.
You can make more specific choices if you want, but these steps cover the basics for setting up your event digest.
Alternatively, you can save events in Localist by creating an account and adding them to your personal calendar.
1. Sign up for an account to build a personal event calendar
2. Use "I'm Interested" on the event page to add to your calendar in the Localist system
3. Under Dashboard, click on "My Calendar" to see the events you have saved
or
4. Click "Add to calendar" to expand the options for calendars. Localist provides files to add the event directly to your Google, Apple or Outlook calendar. You can add any event to your personal calendar without creating an account.
Questions can be sent to calendar@k-state.edu.
As a reminder, K-State Today will change regarding event postings. Event submissions and notifications will shift to the K-State calendar, or Localist, for publication starting in September.
