Environmental health and safety training workshops Oct. 16-18

K-State's Environmental Health and Safety Department is hosting three free eight-hour Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials, or HAZMAT, and Resource and Conservation Recovery Act Large Quantity Generator Regulations and Awareness training workshops. The workshops will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day on Oct. 16, 17 and 18.

This is a great opportunity to gain familiarity with security requirements, pre-transportation/movement functions and HAZMAT training requirements.

Topics covered include waste reduction, contingency planning and emergency response, hazardous waste manifest and land ban restrictions, DOT shipping requirements workshop, accumulating and storing hazardous waste, identifying a hazardous waste, and several others.

Lunch will be provided. Space is limited to 15 attendees per day, and registration is required. Registration closes on Sept. 30 or upon filling of seats. Registration can be completed online
