New FIS reporting system launches Oct. 1.

Submitted by Brennan Bestwick

The Division of Financial Services and the Division of Information Technology will implement a new financial information system, or FIS, reporting tool, effective Oct. 1. The university's current financial reporting tool, Oracle Discoverer, has reached the end of its life cycle and will not be supported moving forward.

K-State has partnered with Insum, a company with many years of experience and expertise in converting Discoverer reports to a widely used new Oracle platform, APEX. The transition to APEX enables staff to maintain access to the same reports previously utilized in Discoverer but with increased functionality. The university's adoption of the APEX application ensures university financial reporting is secure and prioritizes user experience.

Staff who use FIS reporting are encouraged to join one of our upcoming trainings on Zoom. Registration is not required.

  • 9:30-11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 3
  • 2-3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4
  • 2-3:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7

Additional Zoom training opportunities will be available on a limited basis after these initial trainings. Learn more about our new FIS reporting tool and look for additional training opportunities by visiting the Financial Information System website.
