Attend diversity learning events today, tomorrow
Attend one or all of the diversity learning events jointly offered by the 10th annual Diversity Summit and fifth annual Institute for Student Learning Assessment Nov. 12-13 on the second floor in the K-State Student Union. Events without meals are free for K-State faculty and staff. See the full schedule of events. Highlighted events and topics include:
- Fostering Diversity Learning through Teaching: Alma Clayton-Pedersen, Association of American Colleges and Universities senior scholar and CEO of Emeritus Consulting Group, will be this year’s keynote speaker. Clayton-Pederson will deliver the keynote address from noon-1 p.m. Nov. 13.
- Wounded Warriors: Overcoming Adversity: Retired Col. Greg Gadson will speak on the importance of helping our wounded veterans make a meaningful return to civilian life from 8:10-9:05 a.m. Nov. 13.
- Diversity Learning Sessions: Breakout sessions on defining and assessing diversity learning within disciplines will be from 9:15-11:45 a.m. Nov. 13.
- A Walk through Multicultural History at K-State: Attendees will get a glimpse of multicultural history at K-State through rare and unique materials. This session will be offered from 5-6 p.m. Nov. 12 and again from 11-11:45 a.m. Nov. 13.
