ATID Showcase of Excellence is Thursday, April 13
The Showcase of Excellence runway show and mounted exhibit kicks off the 13th annual Apparel, Textiles, and Interior Design Student Symposium on Thursday, April 13. The theme for the 2017 symposium is "Creative Thinking."
The runway show and mounted exhibit provide K-State students and students in grades 7-12 the opportunity to be selected to show their work to the public and industry professionals. The mounted exhibit begins at 6 p.m. in the atrium of McCain Auditorium and runway show follows at 7 p.m. in McCain Auditorium.
This year's theme, "Creative Thinking" will challenge students to combine or synthesize existing ideas, images or expertise in original ways. The experience of thinking, reacting and working in an imaginative way is characterized by a high degree of innovation, divergent thinking, and risk taking according to the Association of American Colleges and Universities.
The Showcase of Excellence is a ticketed event. Tickets are available to purchase now online, or by phone at 785-532-6428. For more information about the student symposium events visit he.k-state.edu/atid/events/symposium/.
