Submitted by Gayla Adams-Wright
Join the Pre-Chiropractic Club, a registered student organization, for its first meeting of the fall semester from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, in Room 205 of the K-State Student Union.
The club will host Palmer College of Chiropractic. Palmer has three campuses: Davenport, Iowa; Port Orange, Florida; and San Jose, California.
According to the college's website, chiropractic care restores and preserves health by improving the body's structure, primarily the spine, and functions, primarily coordinated by the nervous system.
Career paths available in the chiropractic field include solo practitioner, researcher, educator, fitness facility chiropractor, VA chiropractor, or sports team chiropractor.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook 2014, employment in the chiropractic profession continues to be promising. Employment is expected to increase 15 percent between 2012 and 2022 based upon consumer demand for alternative care.
