Successful completion of Elsevier negotiation for e-journals and All-Access e-books package

Submitted by Cailin Wycoff

K-State Libraries announces the successful completion of negotiations with Elsevier, the world's largest publisher of scholarly journals specializing in science, technology, engineering and medicine titles.

The Elsevier journals and All-Access e-books package is the largest negotiated content expenditure of K-State Libraries. The new deal runs from 2024-2026 and includes more than 698 e-journals and more than 42,300 e-book titles.

The Libraries used feedback received from faculty, department heads and librarians in the fall combined with usage data — both COUNTER and interlibrary loan — to inform the decision-making process. While there are fewer titles overall in order to align with available budget, the titles selected are of high impact.

Titles no longer available can be obtained through an interlibrary loan request
