Every person carries a life vitality
When Friends’ lives are shattered by heartbreak, anguish tests their life vitality—their spirit and strength.
The word spirit is from the Latin spiritus, associated with breath (used to translate Greek pneuma, breath, and Hebrew ruach, wind). These terms all imply an analogy between something physical and something that is not physical. Therefore, a person’s spirit is non-physical reality—the invisible and shifting current of thoughts and feelings that surrounds a person or group of people. We can define spirit by its effects (spirit of loving-kindness, spirit of truth, spirit of confusion, spirit of fear). Other words for spirit include animation, vigor, vitality, liveliness, enthusiasm, vivacity. |
