Paraphrase meaning
As we listen, we paraphrase core ideas by restate in our own words what we believe Friends mean. Affirming another’s story by putting it into our own words is a powerful moment. Friends realize that they are not alone. The person next to him on the aircraft, the mother sitting next to her on the bed, the hospital chaplain in the waiting room understands. Really understands.

Heartbroken Friends seek to share their stories with someone who cares enough to listen and understand. To paraphrase meaning we have to recognize the ideas underlying the words and summarize the true story Friends want to tell us.
