Program Review

This page provides essential resources and information for graduate programs at Kansas State University as they prepare for various review processes, including the Kansas Board of Regents (KBOR) Graduate Program Review, the Mid-Cycle Program Review, and the Graduate Certificate Review. These resources are compiled from the Graduate School and the Office of Data, Assessment and Institutional Research.

Kansas Board of Regents (KBOR) Graduate Program Review

Every eight years, the doctoral, master’s, and certificate programs at Kansas State University undergo a comprehensive review. This full-cycle review serves as the basis for the Kansas Board of Regents' evaluation. Its purpose is to facilitate the improvement of academic programs, thereby enhancing K-State’s overall strength and reputation. This review process helps achieve future goals, update curricula, and address the needs of students, faculty, and the Board of Regents.

Please note that as of the 2023 academic year, the KBOR review process is under revision and has been paused. Therefore, there will be no formal internal graduate program review this academic year.

Mid-Cycle Graduate Program Review

Midway between full-cycle reviews, K-State graduate programs participate in a Mid-Cycle Review, which takes place four years before the next comprehensive review. This review includes the completion of programs' Assessment of Student Learning (ASL) report and a review of the KBOR Statistical Overview report.
