Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative grant applications due Dec. 6

Submitted by Ashley Nietfeld

The Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative is accepting applications for the fall 2024 round of grants.

The deadline is 8 a.m. on Dec. 6. Applications can be submitted via this Qualtrics form.

The initiative provides grants between $2,000-$10,000 for instructors to adopt, adapt or create open educational resources for their classrooms. It aims to make education more affordable for K-State students. Since its launch in 2013, the initiative has saved students more $10 million.

The Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative committee will host several hybrid information sessions. Attendees will learn more about the program and resources available to support the adoption or creation of open educational resources.

All grant applicants are highly encouraged to attend one of the upcoming general information sessions on the initiative:

  • 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, in 407 Hale and via Zoom. Meeting ID: 990 2526 1159; Passcode: 146445.
