AAUW American Fellowships for women scholars, application deadline is Nov. 15

The American Association of University Women is a leader in educational, professional and economic opportunities for women nationally and globally, providing nearly $4 million annually in fellowships and grants.
Applications are now being accepted for the association's American Fellowships to support women scholars who are completing dissertations, planning research leave from accredited institutions, or preparing research for publication.The application deadline for the following categories is Nov. 15.
Dissertation Fellowships worth $20,000 are available to women who will complete their dissertation writing between July 1, 2014, and June 30, 2015. Applicants must have completed all course work, passed all preliminary examinations and received approval for their research proposals or plans by Nov. 15.
Postdoctoral Research Leave Fellowships worth $30,000 offer one year of funding for women in tenure-track faculty positions in support of their earning tenure and further promotions by enabling them to spend a year pursuing independent research.
Summer/Short-Term Research Publication Grants worth $6,000 provide funds for women college and university faculty and independent researchers to prepare research for publication.The grants are intended for tenure-track, part-time or temporary faculty as well as new and established researchers at universities.
Applications are available at the association’s website. Other upcoming funding opportunities include the International Fellowships, deadline Dec. 1; Career Development Grants, deadline Dec. 15; Selected Professions Fellowships, deadline Jan. 10, 2014; and Community Action Grants, deadline Jan. 15, 2014.
