Spring 2014 courses needed for learning management system pilot
Submitted by Information Technology Services
Information technology services announces an expanded spring 2014 Pilot will be conducted for Canvas by Instructure. Canvas is a state-of-the-art learning management system used by many major institutions, and it offers a variety of powerful and intuitive tools.
During fall 2013 pilot, 15 courses representing 22 sections with 16 instructors and 440 students took part. The fall 2013 pilot was a success and has provided a lot of valuable information about how Canvas will meet K-State’s system's needs. Based on the responses and data being collected, a decision has been made to conduct a second pilot.
The spring 2014 Pilot will consist of a broader collection of courses and users. The second pilot will give information technology services the chance to further explore Canvas’ features, and allow more faculty and students the opportunity to use Canvas and provide their feedback.
Instructors who would like to try out Canvas with their students this spring should apply for the Canvas pilot right away. Instructors who participate in the pilot will collaborate with information technology services to transition their courses to Canvas.
Instructors, if you are interested in trying out a modern, powerful, mobile-friendly and media-rich learning management system to help decide if it is right for K-State, complete this simple application form now.
