Rohles Distinguished Lecturer to present 'Doing Business with Governmental Research and Development Agencies'
Scientist Roy Kelly will give a presentation "Doing Business with Governmental R&D Agencies" at 3:30 p.m. April 30 in Fiedler Auditorium.
Kelly is a former senior scientist for the U.K. Ministry of Defense, a Ministry of Defense liaison to the U.S. Department of Defense, a senior engineer with BAE Systems and an entrepreneur.
His talk will cover: a breakdown of government budget between agencies and functions — research and development operations etc.; different research and development funding channels; the role of marketing to government program managers - examples of good and bad marketing; university research and development centers of excellence and the advantages of agglomeration — clustering; and employment seeking strategies for engineering graduates.
Faculty, staff, and students are invited.
