College of Business Administration invites you to the retirement reception of David Andrus, Johanna Lyle

Ali Malekzadeh, Edgerly family dean of the College of Business Administration, will host a retirement reception for David Andrus, professor of marketing, and Johanna Lyle, instructor of accounting, from 3:30-5 p.m. Thursday, May 8, in the Flint Hills Room of the K-State Student Union. All K-State colleagues and friends are invited to attend.
Andrus earned his bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University, his master's degree from the University of Hawaii and his doctorate from the University of Iowa. He was a visiting professor at the University of Iowa in the area of marketing prior to his arrival at K-State in 1983. During his K-State career, Andrus served as an exemplary professor and administrator. He was head of the marketing department for 11 years, served as assistant dean for graduate programs for two years, and was appointed the college’s first director of research in 2012. During his tenure as department head, marketing student enrollment increased from 112 to 402 students.
Lyle earned her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Kansas and her Master of Accountancy at Kansas State University. She is a certified public accountant and a certified government financial manager. She joined the K-State faculty in 1983. During her K-State career, Lyle has served the college in an exemplary capacity, teaching undergraduates in the areas of financial accounting, governmental and nonprofit accounting and law for accountants. She has received a number of recognitions and awards while at K-State including the Baird Kurtz and Dobson Teaching Excellence Award, Kansas State Bank Outstanding Advising Award, Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants Life Achievement Award and is an honorary member of the Golden Key.
Both Andrus and Lyle have served the college with distinction for 31 years. Please join us on May 8 to celebrate their outstanding K-State careers.
