Architecture professor publishes two essays

Submitted by Mick Charney

Mick Charney, associate professor of architecture, published the essay "Water, Water Everywhere: Charting New Courses for Architectural History" in the proceedings of the 2014 international combined conference of the Architectural Research Centers Consortium and the European Association for Architectural Education (ARCC/EAAE).

In a volume titled "Beyond Architecture: New Intersections and Connections," Charney's essay was one of 13 that collectively examined in particular the notion of re-disciplining architecture curricula in ways that critique the rise, fall, and reformation of some of its constituent parts including history, theory, historiography and future studies.

Charney also published the essay "There is No 'D' in Stonehenge: Using 'Word Clouds' to Reveal (and Dispel) Student Misconceptions" in The Scholarly Teacher, the online blog of the Lilly Conferences organization, April 16.
