Terlazzo to present in Vancouver
Professor Rosa Terlazzo will present a paper at the Pacific Division meetings of the American Philosophical Association April 2-4 in Vancouver. Her paper is "Respect for Autonomy or Promotion of Autonomy: Is the Question Which we Should Privilege or When?"
She will argue that when our identities, and the commitments that constitute them, are not fully formed, policies favoring the promotion of autonomy should take precedence over those requiring respect for autonomy, but that once identities are fully formed the converse is true.
