ADVANCE Distinguished Lecture Series presents Gabriel Radvansky

Submitted by Tawny Ochs

The ADVANCE Distinguished Lecture Series and Heather Bailey, assistant professor in the department of psychological sciences, will host Gabriel Radvansky at 3:30 p.m. Monday, March 30, in 5102 Bluemont Hall. Radvansky will present "Life is Just One Thing After Another: The Event Horizon Model."

The lecture abstract:

Over several years of research, some basic principles of event cognition are coming into focus. These principles involve how people slice up their experience of the world, how they understand what they are experiencing and how easily they remember those experiences. I will outline these basic principles and discuss several lines of research that assess these principles. Moreover, I discuss how these differences can sometimes be influenced by individual differences in working memory span and age.
