K-State summer school task force appointed

A task force has been appointed and charged with examining a number of aspects regarding summer school at Kansas State University. The task force was appointed by April Mason, provost and senior vice president, and Sue Maes, dean of K-State Global Campus. The members of the task force are:

  • Jo Maseberg-Tomlinson, co-chair and program coordinator, K-State Global Campus
  • Brian Niehoff, co-chair and associate provost for institutional effectiveness
  • Tim de Noble, dean, College of Architecture, Planning & Design
  • Steve Dandaneau, vice provost of undergraduate studies
  • Lou Benjamin, associate dean, College of Arts & Sciences
  • Stacy Kovar, associate dean, College of Business Administration
  • Paul Burden, assistant dean, College of Education
  • Alysia Starkey, associate dean, K-State Salina
  • Michael Young, department head, psychological sciences
  • Fred Guzek, professor, arts, sciences and business, K-State Salina
  • Kevin Cook, assistant director for department initiatives, Housing and Dining Services
  • Julie Hunt, academic advisor, College of Arts & Sciences
  • Bente Janda, director of academic services, College of Business Administration
  • Trisha Gott, assistant director of service learning, Staley School of Leadership Studies
  • Beth Stuewe, advisor, School of Family Studies and Human Services
  • Charlotte Pfaff, associate registrar
  • Sara Thurston-Gonzalez, director, International Student and Scholar Services
  • James Bach, director, financial operations, Division of Financial Services
  • Ashley Martin, director, marketing services, Division of Communications and Marketing

The charge of the task force will be to examine all aspects of summer school, including student advising issues, curriculum planning, financial aid, campus life in the summer and the current funding model. The task force will begin its work in May 2015 and will prepare a report for Provost Mason and Dean Maes in the fall 2015 semester.
