Kakes for Kaiden Schroeder
FarmHouse Fraternity is hosting Kakes For Kaiden, a pancake feed with toppings, from 8-10 p.m. Oct. 27 at the fraternity, 1830 College Heights Road. Entry to the philanthropy event is a free-will donation and the benefits will go to the family of Kaiden Schroeder from McPherson.
Kaiden is a 10-year-old boy who was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia in 2009. This rare case of leukemia has put him in and out of the hospital and bone marrow transplants since 2009.
Despite fighting leukemia, Kaiden is a passionate K-State fan. In 2013, K-State football player Ryan Mueller visited Kaiden in the hospital and gave him something to be excited about. Since then, Kaiden was able to attend the Alamo Bowl and stand on the sidelines at a home game. He suited up for the 2014 spring football game and scored a touchdown for K-State. Kaiden is still recovering from his most recent bone marrow transplant on Aug. 14. He, unfortunately, won't be able to make the event because of current chemo treatments, but will be with us in spirit.
We also are selling T-shirts to the event. T-shirts are $25 and will serve as your ticket for the pancakes and an entry into the raffle that will include various gift cards and prizes. Kornerbooth Photography will be at the event as well as Willie the Wildcat and the K-State cheerleaders to show their support of Kaiden. Come join us as we raise money to support a passionate, young K-State fan as he battles leukemia.
