Two faculty members present at English USA Professional Development Conference
Smoky Kelly and Elizabeth Musil, faculty from K-State's English Language Program, presented at the eighth annual English USA Professional Development Conference in Monterey, California, Jan. 21-22. English USA's mission is to provide support, standards and advocacy for intensive English programs as is this conference focus.
"Currently, there are more than 400 individualized education programs across the U.S. that have participated in this conference," Kelly said. Kelly and Musil presented for the professional development track, "A Faculty-driven Comprehensive Model for Diversifying ESL Professional Development."
"The English Language Program at K-State employs a faculty-driven professional development model rather than a more commonly found administrative-led model. As part of this model, our program has been exploring ways to collaborate with other individualized education programs from regional institutions," Kelly said.
