Political science department to host workshop on current Middle East
The Michael W. Suleiman Chair in Arab and Arab-American Studies and the political science department are hosting a workshop, "After the Uprisings: Public Opinion, Gender and Conflict in the Middle East," from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 5, in Hale Library's Hemisphere Room.
The workshop will examine democratization, violence, and gender relations in the current Middle East. Speakers include scholars from Harvard University, Princeton University, Rice University, State University of New York at Binghamton, Harvard University, the University of Kansas, Kansas State University and other universities.
The event is free and open to the public. Additional support for the workshop has been provided by the College of Arts & Sciences, the Office of Military and Veteran Affairs, K-State Office for the Advancement of Women in Science and Engineering, and the vice provost for international affairs.
