Chilled water expansion project update: Entrance closure to parking lot A6

Submitted by Jack Carlson

Beginning Monday, May 2, the southwest driveway off Mid-Campus Drive leading to parking lot A6 will close for construction of two new chilled water lines to service Bluemont Hall. Please reference the construction maps online. The A6 parking lot can be accessed from the north using Bayberry Lane. Please drive with caution since Bayberry Lane is very narrow for two way traffic. Sidewalks will have minimal impact, use caution when nearing the construction barricades.

Construction crews will bore two new pipes under the driveway immediately north of Dickens Hall. This short drive immediately north of Dickens will close to allow the workers to find the existing underground utilities residing under the driveway pavement. Once the existing utilities are known, that portion of driveway immediately north of Dickens will reopen to aid in traffic circulation. Work on this portion of the project will extend through May 13.

For more information, click "Construction and traffic update" on K-State's homepage. Please keep in mind these dates are estimated projections and may vary slightly as construction progresses and as weather cooperates with our work. Accessibility to buildings is indicated on the online construction maps.
