From the Senior Vice Provost: Fall term syllabi statements
Dear deans, department heads, faculty and graduate teaching assistants:
As we prepare for the start of the academic year, please take a moment to review the information about course syllabi. Remember to include the mandatory statements in your fall course syllabi, and please consider including suggested optional statements, if they apply to your course. The website also includes a link to a syllabi template for online courses.
Please note we have included additional language — highlighted text on the website — in the Statement on Copyright Notification, which is in the section on Optional Syllabi Statements, as well as additional information you may wish to provide to your students regarding actions that constitute violation of the Student Code of Conduct. There have been no changes to any of the other syllabi statements — mandatory or optional — from previous years.
To assist in your planning, please make sure your exam schedule is up-to-date by reviewing the fall 2016 exam schedule.
All faculty, instructors and graduate teaching assistants should refer to section F70-73 of the University Handbook to make sure they are in compliance with the final exam policy.
We ask you to pay close attention to the "Prep Week" rule that no examination — unit or final — may be scheduled seven calendar days prior to the first scheduled day of semester examinations.
Please contact our office at 785-532-6224 or rdyer@k-state.edu, if you have any questions.
We wish you a very successful and productive 2016-2017 academic year.
Best regards,
Ruth
