Learn about inflammation at first Sigma Xi Science Café of the semester
Inflammation is the body's immediate response to foreign substances and is critical to health. But what causes it? What happens when it doesn't turn off? Does it work the same in males and females?
Sherry Fleming, professor of biology, will address these questions with "Inflammation: Controlling the Drama Queen," the first Sigma Xi Science Café of the semester, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, at Radina's Coffeehouse and Roastery, 616 N. Manhattan Ave. All are welcome to attend.
Sigma Xi was founded in 1886 to honor excellence in scientific investigation and encourage a sense of companionship and cooperation among researchers in all fields of science and engineering. The K-State chapter holds science cafés that are generally at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month. Find more information.
