Hack K-State challenges students to a weekend full of learning and fun

Submitted by Alex Todd

Competing for first place, two students participate in a cup stacking challenge during Hack K-State 2017.

Starting Oct. 19, more than 200 students from around the country will congregate in the Little Apple to participate in Hack K-State's fourth annual hackathon in the College of Business Administration building.

Students collaborate in teams of up to four to dream up a website, mobile app, or robot, and then spend all weekend bringing their amazing ideas to life. Over the course of the weekend, students will have opportunities to network with industry professionals, learn from experienced mentors and win prizes. The event is open to high school and college students and thanks to Hack K-State's sponsors, the event is completely free to all participants. Hack K-State will begin on Oct. 19 and end on Oct. 21. Students can visit hackkstate.tech for more information and to register.

Hack K-State is a student-run organization in the K-State computer science department. The group works with a partner company, Major League Hacking, which helps orchestrate hackathons all around the world. Together, along with the help of sponsors, they are able to provide attendees a fun weekend full of learning.
