K-State choral program hosts 28 international choral conductors
For the first time, K-State Choirs hosted 28 international conductors from China and Raine Pienaar, an International Choral Exchange Program scholar from Pretoria, South Africa.
The Chinese conductors traveled to K-State Feb. 25 to attend a preconference workshop at K-State to prepare for the National American Choral Directors Association Conference in Kansas City. During the preconference, the conductors had the opportunity to observe K-State's Collegiate Chorale rehearsal, attend a Choral Methods course, and four distinguished guest conductors led a clinic with K-State's Women's Choir.
K-State Choirs welcomed Pienaar, one of six International Choral Exchange fellows from South Africa, on March 4. Pienaar was K-State Choirs' guest conductor and guest lecturer of the day, and worked with a graduate conducting class, Grand Chorus, Choral Methods and Women's Chorus.
