Undergraduate Research Conference and Developing Scholars Program Symposium Sunday

Submitted by Tanya Gonzalez

Undergraduate research will take center stage at Kansas State University's Undergraduate Research Conference from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 14, at the K-State Student Union. The conference is sponsored by the Office of Undergraduate Research & Creative Inquiry, or OURCI; OURCI ambassadors; the Primary Text Certificate Program; the Department of English; and K-State Libraries.

The morning panels will showcase papers and presentations by undergraduate researchers and scholars from across the university. This will be followed by a keynote presentation by University Distinguished Professor of Chemistry Christer Aakeroy.

The conference will culminate with the 19th annual Developing Scholars Program Research Poster Symposium from 2-4 p.m. in the K-State Student Union's Ballroom.

The Developing Scholars Program is an undergraduate research program that provides opportunities for highly motivated underrepresented students to participate in research projects with a faculty mentor. Students receive academic, social and financial support while participating in the discovery and creation of new knowledge at Kansas State University. Developing Scholars is housed in the university's Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Inquiry.
