K-State soil research featured in Supporters of Agricultural Research Foundation report
Four K-State faculty and their research on soilborne diseases were recently recognized in Volume 4, March 2019, edition of Retaking the Field, a collaborative report compiled by the Supporters of Agricultural Research Foundation.
Gretchen Sassenrath, Chris Little, Xiaomao Lin and Kraig Roozeboom have researched charcoal rot, a fungal disease that blights soybeans. Through their research, the team found that less pathogen colony forming units of charcoal rot were present in soybean plants and the soil when a mustard cover crop was used along with no-till planting methods.
