Philosophy professor Salvatore Florio will present papers in philosophical logic
Philosophy professor Salvatore Florio will present papers in philosophical logic at University of Oslo and University of Aberdeen.
Florio considers various possible semantics for plural expressions, the ontology required by such semantics and their compatibility with traditional linguistic theories. His first presentation is part of the Workshop on Typed vs. Untyped Semantics from 10:45 a.m. to noon April 13 at the University of Oslo and is titled "Varieties of Singularism"; his second presentation is titled "Semantics and the Plural Conception of Reality," and will be given at the University of Aberdeen/Northern Institute of Philosophy on April 23.
