College of Business Administration team takes second in Nebraska Tenaska Case Competition

Submitted by Thomas Kelemen

College of Business Administration management majors Madison Schnacker, Allison Oberle, Julia Pfaff and Julia Robbe placed second in the first Tenaska Business Case Challenge. They competed against eight teams from six universities across the Midwest.

The competition took place Feb. 23-24 at the University of Nebraska. Each team received the business case on the first day of the competition and had 24 hours to complete the case.

K-State offers a management major with degree options in human resource management and organizational management. Management students learn how to manage all aspects of an organization, solve organizational problems and develop and execute effective strategies. The management curriculum is designed to enhance not only students' technical abilities but also in-demand soft skills such as critical thinking, data storytelling, communication and collaboration.

The management minor is targeted toward non-management majors and focuses on the application of management concepts and principles to improve services, products and operations.
