New events this spring at the Entrepreneurship Center
As a celebration of the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation at Kansas State University, the K-State Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center is hosting a series of new events this spring.
The K-State Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center is partnering with the Entrepreneurship Club to present Entrepreneurship Week, March 6-9. The week's events will include networking, presentations, guest speakers and demonstrations. You can even bring your great business idea for a Shark Tank-style pitch event. Everyone is welcome.
This week is specifically designed to highlight the entrepreneurship ecosystem at K-State. This initiative empowers the entrepreneurship journey and supports current and future student entrepreneurs with knowledge offered through the week’s events.
All are welcome to attend:
- March 7 — Entrepreneurship Club business crawl, 4 p.m., Entrepreneurship Center.
- March 8 — Guest speaker, entrepreneur Scott Reddler, co-founder of Freddy’s Restaurants, 4:30 p.m., Western Ag Resources Lecture Hall, 1088 Business Building.
- March 9 — Entrepreneurship and Innovation Accelerator Program Demo Day, 1-3:45 p.m., 4061 Business Building.
- March 9 — Entrepreneurship and Innovation Accelerator Program reception and networking event — by invitation only — 4-5 p.m., Business Building atrium.
"E-week is a week of promoting entrepreneurship and learning through experience and hands-on work with opportunities to meet several businesses, student entrepreneurs as well as industry leaders," said Nick Jackson, Entrepreneurship Club president. "I encourage everyone to participate to support fellow student-run businesses and to learn from people who have been successful for a very long time."

Pitch and Pizza will take place from 4-5:30 p.m. March 28 and April 25 in the Entrepreneurship Center, College of Business Administration. All K-State students can pitch their business ideas, Shark Tank style, to receive feedback from a group of 3-4 panelists. This is a great way to test new ideas for a business or refine an existing venture vision. Each student that pitches will receive $100 in the form of a scholarship and free pizza. Spaces are limited to only 10 student participants per event. Students must sign up ahead of time to pitch.
The Center for the Advancement of Entrepreneurship is located on the first floor of the College of Business Administration building, Room 1056. The "E-Center" is open for all students to use as a study or co-working space. Courses focus on developing an entrepreneurial mindset — a set of skills that are necessary to be successful in any profession, whether you decide to start a new business or work for an existing organization.
You can choose to pursue an entrepreneurship and innovation major, the 15-credit hour entrepreneurship and innovation minor or take a class or two to learn how the entrepreneurial mindset will benefit you in your career.
