International Buddies and SPICMACAY celebrate Holi: Festival of Color

Submitted by Prasanth Chandran

The Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth, or SPICMACAY, is collaborating with K-State's International Buddies organization to celebrate the Indian festival of colors, Holi.

The event will take place from 4-6 pm. Wednesday, March 8, at the Jardine Plaza near JP's/Jardine Tower.

Holi is a Hindu festival that has been celebrated since ancient times. The Holi Festival is celebrated as a way to welcome spring, and it is also seen as a new beginning where people can release all their inhibitions and start fresh.

People from varied backgrounds gather for Holi to celebrate "unity in diversity" using colors.

We will give various colored powders for you to fling or apply to one another.

As you might not be able to reuse the garments, we suggest you wear older clothes.
