Following a national search, Adam Kramer has been selected to lead facilities maintenance, a role which he begins on Sept. 18.

"I am excited to join the facilities team and have the opportunity to give back to the K-State community and serve my alma mater," Kramer said. "After living in the Kansas City area for the past five years, my family and I are thrilled to be back in Manhattan. I look forward to serving the students, faculty and staff while continuing the tradition of excellence set forth by Kansas State University."

In his role, Kramer will lead the maintenance and renewal activities of university facilities, which includes six million gross square feet of campus infrastructure. This role provides continuous leadership to 50 departmental staff who support these activities daily.

"We are extremely excited about the tools and experience that Adam brings to our facilities leadership team," said Chris Salmon, assistant vice president of facilities operations. "Adam's experience in project leadership, workforce development, financial management and his personal experience in a trade brings a breadth of new perspective and experiences."

Kramer holds a degree from K-State in construction science and management. Prior to attending K-State, Kramer spent four years in the United States Navy on the USS Bataan as an electrician's mate second class. Upon graduation, he joined Turner Construction Company where over a span of five years he was a field engineer, project engineer, cost analyst and workforce development manager. He is also on the board of directors for the National Institute for Construction Excellence and was a council member for the KC Area Chamber of Commerce's Military Advisory Council. He is originally from Herington. Kramer, his wife, Courtney, and their two kids, AJ and Leo, will be relocating to Manhattan soon.
